About the place

Embedded in the Lippe Uplands at the edge of Teutoburg Forest, Bad Salzuflen – with its spacious, landscaped park and carefully restored houses in the old town – is one of Germany’s most popular health spas.

Bad Salzuflen has a long history, the traces of which are ever-present. Since there is so much to discover, guided tours are regularly offered and focus on a variety of historical aspects. The town’s almost 200-year spa tradition has a lot to offer. Varied programs are available for health- and wellness-oriented guests as well as for those looking for an active holiday.

Many programs are related to Bad Salzuflen’s namesake salt. Every year, thousands visit the town to breathe in the healthy air in its graduation towers and to bathe in the waters of its healing brine springs.

Bad Salzuflen offers a wide range of recreation and spa, treatments and culture to an active holiday. Pamper yourself with mud and massage in the hotel's own physiotherapy department. A gym and beauty salon and a sauna can be found directly in the house.

Extremely large are the deals around the salt, which the city owes its name. Every year, thousands to Bad Salzuflen to breathe healthy air in the salt works and to bathe in the healing salt water springs. But sport and active leisure are not forgotten: whether hiking, cycling, Nordic walking or a stay in the VitaSol Therme.

A special attraction is a stay in the salt cave. Here a microclimate in which the air is enriched with minerals and virtually pollution-free and thus contributes to relaxation relief of many diseases.

Bad Salzuflen is a good starting point for excursions. In Teutoburg Forest are Hermannsdenkmal and Externsteine popular destinations. A visit to the nearby towns worth: Detmold with its baronial residence castle and the old town, the more than 1200-year-old university and cathedral city of Paderborn or the town founded in the year 780 Osnabrück, the only major German city in the middle of a natural reserve, UNESCO Geopark TERRA.vita lies.
